2018 Syrah - Colson Canyon Vineyard, Santa Barbara County
96 points - Erin Brooks, The Wine Advocate
"The 2018 Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard is a gorgeous varietal Syrah made with 75% whole clusters. Medium ruby-purple, it has pure scents of red and black cherries, milk chocolate, lilac, bacon fat and laurel leaves. The full-bodied palate is plush and fragrant, offering plenty of lift for its intense, savory fruits and finishing with notable length. It deserves another 3-5 years in bottle and should be long-lived in the cellar." - Erin Brooks
Tasting notes
Matt's tasting notes: "Pure lifted, red fruit aromatics, cherry-vanilla Dr. Pepper, with a dense mid-palate, well integrated, grippy tannins and persistant fruit flavors from start to finish."

94 points - Antonio Galloni, Vinous
"The 2018 Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard is a heady, effusive wine. Blue purplish fruit, lavender and spice infuse this ample, deep Grenache with tons of character. Clean mineral notes add shape, while also extending the finish brilliantly. A powerful, deep, incisive wine. The Colson Canyon is wild in its flavor profile and tannic structure, and so compelling." -Antonio Galloni
