"The 2014 Pinot Noir Lotus is pale to medium ruby with an intense, powerful nose; pipe tobacco, warm blackberries, cinnamon stick and nutmeg, salami, cracked peppercorn, potpourri, dusty earth, spiced cranberry sauce, stewed rhubarb and strawberry jam - there are so many layers here, I could keep smelling and naming scents.  Medium-bodied and smooth as silk, it transforms in the mouth from saline to orange to rose to warm fruits, building in intensity, with pleasantly chewy tannins and mouthwatering freshness to counter, finishing very long, very spicy and with tons of energy. From a cooler site in the Sta. Rita Hills, the 2015 Grenache LaBarge Vineyard gives up a medium ruby color as well as notes of bright raspberry and strawberry fruits, cedary spice, and ground pepper. It picks up more minerality and dried earth characteristics with time in the glass, has medium-bodied depth and richness, and savory tannins on the finish. It's going to drink nicely for 7-8 years.

Amazingly powerful and pure aromatics. Incredibly consistent with the previous 2014 vintage; this 2015 vintage just turns up the intensity and power dials and has more salinity and 'brininess'. White pepper for days!!! Black/cured olives, smoked meat, with tremendous flavor concentration with some fruit you can sink your teeth into on the palate. This wine will last forever, save some for the cellar!

An optimal growing site for Syrah and other varieties, Zotovich Vineyard is comprised of 35 acres in the northern part of the Sta. Rita Hills between Buellton and Lompoc. The vineyard is made up of mostly diatomaceous earth and sandy loam soils that create intense, mineral-driven wines.  Complex and powerful aromatics of olive tapenade, cracked pepper, fennel, sage, cured meat. Silky-smooth on palate, this wine has elegance and weight all at once. Complexity on all fronts with depth to match. Tasting great now and will be a total stunner in 8-10 years.
