The 2019 Pinot noir – Las Hermanas Vineyard is a light, bright wine with a wonderful sea spray/olive brine character on the nose and plenty of lively red fruits: cherry pie, red plum, açai. Elements of tarragon, bay leaf and fresh, wild herbs – sage and mint – give this Pinot complexity and layered flavor. Las Hermanas Vineyard always produces a classy, elegant wine with super-fine-grained tannin and a velvety texture. Ready to drink immediately, this wine will also age beautifully and reveal more of its earthy character.
Las Hermanas Vineyard sits to the far west end of Hwy 246, just 8 miles from the ocean. It is planted on over six different soil types, all of marine origin. SAMsARA’s four rows of clone 115 Pinot Noir are located towards the top of the vineyard, where it is well-drained and aggressively sloped.
