2022 Gamay - Nolan Vineyard, Santa Barbara County
There’s some slight ‘gamay funk’ that blows off after being opened, and then there’s lots of beautiful fruit and freshness in there (also, personal confession….I like the funk). Pomegranate, huge bright red cherries, all densely flavored but still juicy, light, and fresh. Fine tannins on the back end give this wine sticking power and length. This wine can be a ‘porch-pounder’, but it doesn’t have to be. Great balance, super versatile food-pairing wine, with bright acid cutting through the mid-palate. - Matt Brady, Winemaker
