Magnum - 2021 Chardonnay - Radian Vineyard, Sta. Rita Hills
95 points - Matt Kettmann, Wine Enthusiast
Complex and flinty aromatics, reminiscent of Old-world chardonnays, complemented by citrus zest on the nose. White peaches and nectarines with a luxurious mouthfeel. The backbone of acidity provides focus and length, with minerality and texture shiningthrough on the finish. - Matt Brady, Winemaker

"Very clean and light aromas of pear and sea salt meet with a damp earth tone on the nose of this single-vineyard expression. The palate fascinates with an acidity that builds to a sizzling point by the finish after driving through flavors of lemon, apricot and more sea salt." — Matt Kettmann

"Slightly more bass notes of orchard fruits, citrus, honeyed minerality, and leafy herbs all emerge from the 2021 Chardonnay Radian Vineyard, which hits the palate with a broader, more layered mouthfeel that has bright acidity, terrific balance, and outstanding length. It’s beautifully done and will also benefit from 2-3 years in the cellar. Both Chardonnays will evolve for a decade if well stored." -Jeb Dunnuck

"The 2021 Chardonnay Radian is a pretty soft wine for this site. Then again, this fruit came in very late, which explains its mid-palate sweetness and density. There's plenty of textural breadth too. Those qualities make the 2021 easy to enjoy young, certainly more so than the other wines in the range." -Antonio Galloni
