Our first vintage of Chardonnay from Radian Vineyard is a true stunner, and is a delightful balance of Sta. Rita Hills fruit and Burgundian elegance. This wine is textural, springy and electric on the palate with notes of lemon curd, lime zest, white peach and tart pineapple. Fresh, bright fruit flavors and aromatics: green melon, tart guava, kafir lime, slightly underripe apricots. Minerality shines through from beginning to end and picks up on the long finish. A little bit of body and great texture, a precise and focused wine with just the right amount of weight and richness. There’s some slight ‘gamay funk’ that blows off after being opened, and then there’s lots of beautiful fruit and freshness in there (also, personal confession….I like the funk).  Pomegranate, huge bright red cherries, all densely flavored but still juicy, light, and fresh.  Fine tannins on the back end give this wine sticking power and length.  This wine can be a ‘porch-pounder’, but it doesn’t have to be.   Great balance, super versatile food-pairing wine, with bright acid cutting through the mid-palate. - Matt Brady, Winemaker

Extremely fresh. Orange berries??? Do those exist? If orange berries are out there, they taste like this wine smells.  Big/fresh/clean aromatics and flavors of tangerine, strawberries, orange sherbet, bright red fruits.  And a ‘watermelon jollyrancher’ thing (without the sweetness).  Bright, crisp, food friendly, mineral driven with good texture. - Matt Brady, Winemaker

SAMsARA's Chardonnay from Zotovich Vineyard is a bright, zesty, mineral-rich example of Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay. The nose bursts with fruit - kiwi, key lime, and grapefruit and has a wonderful sea spray quality. On the palate this wine is textural, with racy acidity that rounds out on the finish like a bite of key lime pie; it starts with tart fruit and finishes with a soft creaminess. With only three barrels produced, the 2020 Chardonnay - Cuvée d'Inspiration showcases all that we love about the Sta. Rita Hills. This wine is acid- and mineral-driven, broad on the palate with beautiful texture from extended sur lie elevage. Tart pineapple, Meyer lemon, lime zest and crushed oyster shell jump from the glass and are mirrored on the palate. 2020 was our first vintage sourcing Grenache from Spear Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills and we are so impressed with this wine! Bright, ripe cherries, plums and marionberries mingle with an herbal, medicinal quality that reminds us of Fernet branca, along with warm baking spices, olive brine and sassafras. The 2019 Pinot noir – La Encantada Vineyard is all about complexity, density and texture. The 2019 Pinot Noir - Rio Vista Vineyard is an incredibly synchronous wine, beautifully balanced between fruit, earth and spice. On the nose this wine has candied cherries, dried leaves and exotic spices. On the palate, the tannins are super fine-grained, reminiscent of Rooibos tea leaves. The 2019 Grenache - Larner Vineyard is again a superb expression of cool-climate Grenache - incredibly focused, deep and multidimensional, while still retaining bright, refreshing acid. The high inclusion of stems makes this Grenache both savory and spicy, while still showcasing the flashy Santa Barbara fruit profile we love.
